The Sunshine Award and Thankfulness

The Sunshine Award and Thankfulness

Bowled over. Gob smacked. Deeply touched. Profoundly grateful. My brain has been churning for the past hour trying to find the perfect adjective to describe how I feel about the news that this blog, Serendipity Chronicles, has been nominated for a Sunshine Award.

For those of you who may not be familiar with it, the Sunshine Award honors writers who are working to “light up the dark corners” of readers’ minds. It’s a true writer’s honor – a high five given from one scribe to another not just in appreciation of his or her written work, but in recognition of how challenging it can be to put that work out there for all to see – and to keep putting it out there even when the writing Muse is off on a vacation cruise.

Most importantly, it’s an affirmation of the world view that showing kindness is a sign of strength, not weakness.

I’ll be writing more about this award in another post later today, but wanted to just send my thanks out to the person who nominated this blog. The Sunshine Award to Serendipity Chronicles was given by Coach Muller, the wise and wonderful creator of the WordPress blog, Good Time Stories. A haven for folks needing a bit of “niceness” in their lives, this blog offers inspiring and heartwarming tales guaranteed to gladden the heart of even the grumpiest Gus out there, and should be on your follow list if it isn’t already.

Once again, I am struck by the role serendipity plays in our lives and how it is so often intertwined with displays of kindness. Thanks, Coach. May you live long and prosper, and may your own journey be free from incident. 🙂
