About

Sunshine Award“World view” – a phrase which says so much about each of us as individuals. Right now, to many, our world is hard – filled with greed, hate, rudeness, fear. When viewed through the lens of history, however, flashes of sunlight and hope may be found everywhere – even in the darkest of times.

Our parents and grandparents knew this. Eyewitnesses to displays of courage, genuine compassion and persistence in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles and unimaginable cruelty, they were mindful that it is not only possible to endure the worst that fate has to offer, but that they each had the capacity to change the world in ways large and small through everyday displays of simple decency and compassion.

As present day travelers making our way through an increasingly interconnected world, this understanding is needed now more than ever. This site is dedicated to the notion that showing kindness is a sign of strength, not weakness.

“The everyday kindness of the back roads more than makes up for the acts of greed in the headlines.” ~ Charles Kuralt, On the Road

Hello! I came over from Coach Muller’s site and I want to thank you for this post. Isn’t is just so true that kindness is such a wonderful way to get through this tough world. What a great reminder!

    • Thanks so much for your kind words. I’m genuinely glad you enjoyed your visit here, and hope you’ll return. There is a great deal of goodness to be seen and heard in this world if we just slow down, look and listen. Imagine how much more there would be if each of us took the time to do something kind or compassionate for someone else each week. (This could become especially powerful if we used this superpower to make life better for those we don’t know personally.)
